Ana

I have just worked myself into a frenzy. Ana, who should NOT be pregnant has been looking a little plump. At first I was pleased she had put on weight as she had become very thin after her last litter of kittens. Then her tummy went a bit beyond plump, a little bloated looking. She had not been calling so I convinced myself she was having a phantom pregnancy and all was well. This morning the thought of a closed pyometra (womb infection) popped into my head. Ana had a loose stool ( I had just wormed her) and that was it, frenzy confirmed. I had almost lost a cat previously to Pyometra so I didn't need much encouragement before my neurosis kicked in.
I phoned the vet who saw me immediately as he had looked after and saved my previous cat. Ana was inspected and had an ultra-sound scan. No pyometra and the vet gave lots of reassurance that Ana was well.

I don't know if it's a vet I should be paying for or a councilor either way my visit to the vet did the trick...all calm now!
